DETAILS:

Albert Herring finds himself in a unique position. Since Lady Billows cannot find a virtuous enough girl to crown the Queen of May, she decides to appoint this shy grocer as the King of May. What Lady Billows is unaware of, however, is that Albert longs for a more pleasurable life and a night in the pub. Turning the town upside down with the help of Sid, Nancy, and some spiked lemonade, Albert gets his wish.

Albert Herring, an opera by Benjamin Britten, gives the audience a glimpse into the life, love, and trials of one very confused hero in the small-town of Loxford.
