All music applications are due December 1, 2023, via AcceptdPre-screenings and portfolios are due December 1 with the application. You will have to select your audition location when you submit your application. Decisions and interview requests for all departments that require prescreening will be sent on or around January 10, 2024, after all the application materials are reviewed. Audition times will be assigned no later than January 15, 2024.

We expect the following schedule for auditions in 2024:

All Instrumental and Voice Auditions will be held in person.
All Composition and Electronic Music applicant interviews will be held in person or via Zoom.

New York City Regional Auditions -

  • Friday, February 9 - Voice Only

  • Saturday, February 10  - all other instrument areas EXCEPT flute, percussion, and collaborative piano.

    Please note: The New York City regional auditions take place at the National Opera Center, 330 Seventh Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.  School of Music staff will be present at the Regional audition, however, faculty from every instrument area will not be present.  All NYC regional auditions will be recorded.  Voice applicants and all instrument areas, except flute and percussion, are invited to attend. 
    Accompanists are NOT provided for the NYC Regional Voice auditions.  We can provide a list of local accompanists, and students can make their own arrangements. Voice applicants are required to have a collaborative pianist.

Note: If you have any extenuating circumstances preventing you from attending any of the available options for auditions IN PERSON, please communicate with Belmary Lorcas to explore which other options can be available for your department.
