[ the destination ]The Destination is the Carnegie Mellon School of Music website dedicated to audio and video webcasts, and the library of ensemble performances and student and faculty recitals.
The live webcast section of The Destination is home to hundreds of live student and faculty performances recorded each year, while a future events link below provides the schedule of upcoming events which will be broadcast live and the past events link lists previous webcasts. The Destination also has a public and private library, which are collections of previously recorded performances of artists, ensembles and other rare events.
As of 2008, all webcasts from the Kresge Recital Hall are now presented in higher definition, along with occasional performances from the Alumni Concert Hall. All other performances, including webcasts from the Rangos Ballroom and the Chosky Theater will still be available in a higher quality traditional size file. In addition, all performances can be transfered to DVD upon request.
The Destination will be undergoing a large renovation and a new version will launch late in Spring 2008. It will include a number of new and revised features:
- Direct Webcast Information from the new School of Music Website
- Webcasting from Carnegie Music Hall, Oakland
- Student and Faculty Portfolios
- Advanced Webcast Listings and Searching
- And more...
