Under the direction of Ronald Zollman, the Carnegie Mellon Chamber Orchestra will perform a collection of contemporary pieces by Britten, Honegger, Kilar and Respighi - all influenced by elements of dance.
Program:
- Simple Symphony, Op. 4 by Benjamin Britten
- Symphony No. 2 for Strings and Trumpet by Arthur Honegger
- Orawa by Wojciech Kilar
- Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3 by Ottorino Respighi
Designed with a flexible instrumentation, the Chamber Orchestra performs smaller-scaled works, usually composed for 50 players or fewer.
